The drive from Almaty to Medeu and Shymbulak is 25 km and about 45 minutes, climbing roughly 1,500 metres. The car reaches the lower cable-car station, the chauffeur waits in the car park and drives you back. In heavy winter snowfall the road above Medeu may close — the dispatcher checks it on the morning of the trip.
The road climbs Dostyk Avenue, passes the Medeu dam and reaches the lower Shymbulak cable-car station. The car goes all the way up; the gondola takes over from there. By arrangement the chauffeur waits in the car park for as long as you need and drives you back.
On winter weekends the climb is busy: it is worth leaving before nine in the morning or after three in the afternoon. The dispatcher will suggest a window based on the day’s actual traffic.
Two or three people with light bags — the S-Class. Skis and snowboards — the V-Class, a large group — the Sprinter: long bags do not fit a saloon boot, but ride in the minivan’s or minibus’s.
In heavy winter snowfall the road above Medeu is sometimes closed to vehicles without all-wheel drive. The dispatcher checks conditions on the morning of the trip and, if the climb is closed, offers another time.

No. The figure is confirmed before departure and fixed. Traffic, a delayed flight or a detour do not change it. It is recalculated only if you add stops or extend the time yourself — and we tell you before that happens.
At the airport, 60 minutes after landing — enough for passport control and baggage reclaim. For city pick-ups, 15 minutes. Beyond that an hourly waiting rate applies, which the dispatcher tells you about in advance.
