How the border works
At the Kazakhstan–Kyrgyzstan border passengers clear control on foot while the car goes through separately and picks you up on the other side. It usually takes between twenty minutes and an hour and a half depending on the queue and the day.
Bring your passport — a national ID card is not enough for the crossing. The dispatcher will confirm the citizenship of every passenger at booking, since document requirements depend on it.
